Our World in Data is a nonprofit that finds the best research and data on global problems and makes it understandable.

My role

I spent four years working at Our World in Data, joining when the technical team was just two developers.

I worked on whatever happened to be most important at any point: design of the website, data ingestion pipelines, internal authoring tools, data visualisation, but also helped with non-technical aspects: writing grant proposals, long-term technical plans, hiring.
